                                                                                    Marc Vinciguerra

A THEOLOGICAL POEM

This is one of the thing in my life I am most proud of. When I was 17 years old I was in philosophy class and my teacher carried under his arm a book. The year 1987 is the year I discovered philosophy. I followed my teacher in the corridors of the school to write down the title of the book he was holding under his arm. A book freshly published that a author sent to him. The same year I got one of the highest grade of my school in philosophy. The next year in 1988 I enroll to the university of the Sorbonne in philosophy where the author of this book was teaching. He gave me the highest grade of the University. His name is Andre' Comte-Sponville and he is today considered in France as the most important philosopher since Jean-Paul Sartre. I have been writing a book of philosophy since I am 17 years old. It was always my dream to write a big religious poem. I today have achieved this, my manuscript is a more than 300 pages long philosophical poem. It took three decades to write it because I wanted the book to write its self and also I wanted the book to be a complete philosophical system.Today my manuscript is almost finished and will be discussed by the world's greatest theologians at the American Academy of Religion later this month, the oldest gathering of theologians in America since 1909. It is not just a book of philosophy it lays the foundational principles of a new theology. These 30 years of contemplation were very worthwhile, I spent the most beautiful hours of my life writing this long theological poem. The University of Loyola Marymount will present the lecture and Harvard University will answer.

HISTORY BOOK PUBLISHED

Extraordinary feeling today to be in an history book. A book has been published in Germany called UTOPIAN AESTHETICS beautifully written by art historian Felicitas Ehrhardt about the history of a monastery/artist studio. It happens to be the studio where I lived and work for 4 years. Leonardo da Vinci, Wagner, Strauss, Bocklin, Fusseli, Henri James they all stayed and worked in this mysterious monastery where I conceived my Triptych The Religion of Atheism.

This is the English version of my interview with the Sicilian Post. The Italian newspaper has published the interview both in Italian and in english. This is a beautiful article where the journalist defines my aesthetic as a theology without God. This is the English version:

TEXTS BY THE DIRECTOR AND THE SENIOR CURATOR OF THE MUSEUM

Text by the Director of the Museum:

Text by the Senior Curator of the Museum:

THE VAN-GOGH OF MIAMI

I am very happy to share a show with the legendary Purvis Young. I call Purvis the Van-Gogh of Miami. Purvis was the anti-Koons, he was poor and only riveted to his art. He was a mystic instead of a parasite. He spent his life getting always closer to his vision. Now the price of his paintings are skyrocketing and I am sure that if he was still alive he would not have even noticed. Charles Peguy the French poet use to say in 1900 you have the mystics in life who find something to live for and you have the parasites who live from other people inspiration. He was a rare artist, the only kind of artist. You can still see him with the eyes of memory on his bike in the streets of Miami with his huge book of visions on his steering wheel.
