MY TRIPTYCH ACQUIRED BY A MUSEUM

I am deliriously happy to announce that the Museum of Contemporary Art of Sicily is acquiring my Triptych of The Religion of Atheism for their permanent collections. What destiny this Triptych had. Last year the Triptych went from the harbor of New-York to the harbor of Venice for a 6 months exhibition and this year it goes from the harbor of Venice to Sicily to be for ever in an old Benedictine Monastery protected by the UNESCO as world heritage. I am very proud to be part of this Museum, the MACS is building a very important collection thanks to the extraordinary eye of its director. This collection has been recently praised very deservedly by the New-York Times. After I signed the contract, I felt that my heart belongs to Sicily.

TEXT OF A THEOLOGIAN ON THE TRIPTYCH

Reading a text in Venice that the great american Theologian Tracy Sayuki Tiemeier PHD and Professor of Theology at Loyola Marymount University in Los-Angeles wrote about my Triptych The Religion of Atheism. I had for many years an infinite admiration for her work and her revolutionary research in theology. Of course we recognize art criticism as a genre, of course we recognize also philosophy of art as genre since Schelling established it in 1804 but what about theology of art ? Lets try to define this new genre, theology of art: how the belief in the supernormal world influences an aesthetic. This definition is acceptable but a little too classic lets try a more contemporary definition, theology of art: how the death of God influences an aesthetic. That is a little closer. Now lets try a third and final definition of Theology of art: how atheism as a religious experience influences an aesthetic. That is exactly what I show in this Triptych beautifully explained and written by this contemporary theologian. The artist is seen as a new Faust who solves the too old and too insignificant duality between nihilism and religion by reconciling them in the religion of atheism.

PREPARING FOR VENICE SHOW

I am delighted that my favorite Theologian has agreed to write the catalogue of the Triptych for Venice. There will be two catalogues published one luxury edition numbered and signed by the artist and another catalogue published at 12 000 copies.

THE BAPTISM OF THE TRIPTYCH IN VENICE

I was in Venice for multiple reasons recently and I met with the curators of my show next year. My Opus Magnum The Triptych of The Religion of Atheism will premiere in Venice. The past years participants of this show were Marina Abramovic, Yoko Ono, Sir Anthony Gormley, Hermann Nitsch, Joseph Kosuth among other many talented artists. I am honored to have been chosen this year to participate. A five hundred pages catalogue will be published.
